Halloween B/C Grade Sprint Meet

Meet Rules and Information
1 The promoter for this event is Mr Peter Smith.
2 The Competition will be held under ASA Law & technical rules.

The one start rule will apply. Over the top starts may be used at the promoters discretion.

Swimmers are requested to remain in the water until asked to leave the pool.

All individual events will be heat declared winners. Heats may be spread throughout the session.

The pool is 25m long, 8 lanes with anti wave lane ropes and electronic timing.

No outdoors shoes to be worn on the poolside. Footwear must be worn outside the pool area.

Age Groups are 9 yrs, 10yrs, 11/12yrs, 13/14 yrs, and 15yrs & OVER. Ages are as at 24th October 2010.

All entries must show the full date of birth and age on day of each swimmer.

Entry times are to be based on 25m pool times or converted 50m pool times by use of the ASA Conversion Tables.

Swimmers may enter in B grade for some events and C grade for others. The IM events are ungraded.

Swimmers may enter the Individual Medley event only if they have entered at least one other individual event.

Swimmers entered into the team Cannon events must have entered at least one other event.

Cannon teams in each session must comprise the following:
Session 1: 2 x Girls 9 yrs, 2 x Boys 10 yrs, 2 x Girl 11/12 yrs, Boy 13/14 yrs, Girl 15 yrs & Over.
Session 2: 2 x Boys 9 yrs, 2 x Girls 10 yrs, 2 x Boys 11/12 yrs, Girl 13/14 yrs, Boy 15 yrs & Over.
To encourage maximum participation in the team event 'swim-ups' and cross session swimmers will be allowed.

The closing date for entries is 25th September 2010 and refers the the final date on which entries must be received by the meet secretary.

Entries are accepted on the 'first come, first served basis' only. Please note: This event has proved very popular. It is highly likely that entries will close early. Do not delay your entry.

Poolside entries will not be accepted.

Should entries be over-subscribed, the promoter reserves the right to limit entries by rejection of the last entries to be recieved.

This meet will operate as a CARDLESS meet. Check-in lists will be provided for each club which must be completed and handed to the techincal team by the deadline.

The fees for this event are £4.00 for each individual entry. Entries to the Team Cannon event will be free. Strictly no refunds for withdrawals made after the published closing date or the date the meet is declared closed.

Coaches MUST wear passes provided at all times whilst on poolside. Only swimmers with accepted entries and Coaches/Team Managers with a valid Coaches pass will be allowed on Poolside.

Coach passes are priced at £14.00 each and include programme, start lists and a full access to results through our website which will be published on the day of the meet. £2.00 will be refunded on return of passes.

Coaches and Team Managers are requested to ensure their swimmers respect the officials and are silent at the start of each heat.

Results sheets will be on sale for spectators and swimmers priced at 25p per event.

The Referees decision is final.

Trophies/medals/awards will be made for each event to the first six in each gender, age group and grade.

Presentations will only be made for the top boy/girls, top club and team cannon trophies. All other awards should be collected from the awards table during the meet.

In each event and grade, points will be awarded to the top six in each age group and grade (6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1). Points will be totaled for Top Boy/Girl the top club overall. If there is a tie on points, awards will be given to the swimmer/club with the most 1st places, etc. No points are awarded for the Cannon or speeding tickets.

Any swimmer swimming faster than the cut-off time for their entered grade will receive a Speeding Ticket.

Admission for spectators will be £5.00 per session, £8.00 for a full day, to include a programme. Children, accompanied by adults, will be admitted free. The spectators area will be cleared between sessions.

Refreshments may be obtained in the cafeteria but may not be taken on to the poolside.

A swim shop will be in operation throughout the gala.

Any point not covered by these rules will be at the discretion of the organisers and the promoter.
