1. The name of the club shall be SOUTH AXHOLME SHARKS SWIMMING CLUB. The headquarters shall be at Epworth Swimming Pool, Burnham Road, Epworth, Doncaster, DN9 1 BZ
2. The objects of the club shall be :
  a)  To encourage local children to become part of a swimming club.
  b)  The promotion of, and instruction in the art of competitive swimming and diving.
  c)  Improve individual swimming technique, style, fitness and speed within ASA laws.
  d) To prepare individuals for entry into competition swimming.
  e)  To compete in open and invitation meetings.
3. The club shall be affiliated to the Yorkshire District ASA and such other bodies as the Annual General Meeting may decide. The club shall be conducted in accordance with the laws of the ASA and all competitors shall be registered with the ASA to be eligible to compete.
4. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) shall be held on a date fixed by the Management Committee during October or November in each year. 
  Addition, deletions or alterations to rules shall be made only at Annual General Meetings, and any proposition for such additions, deletions or alterations shall be submitted to the Secretary at least 14 days before the date of the meeting.
  The quorum at an Annual General Meeting shall be 3 officers and 3 others, voting shall be confined to members who are 17 years of age or more, except that juniors shall be entitled to vote on matters concerning only juniors. 
  A Chairman, Officers and other Committee members shall be elected at the AGM by a simple majority vote. A management committee composed of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Head Coach and a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 10 other members all of whom will be elected at the AGM shall manage the club .
  The quorum for Management Committee Meetings shall also be 3 Officers and 3 others.
  The Committee shall meet at least once in every 5 weeks and at such other times, as the Chairman, in consultation with the Secretary, may deem necessary.
  The Committee shall have the power to co-opt and shall have authority to appoint a special committee for any special purpose, with or without power to act.
  The Committee shall have the authority to make regulations within the framework of the Constitution and ASA laws, and to deal with any matter not provided for in such Constitution and laws.
  A Special General Meeting (SGM) shall be called within 21 days of the receipt by the Secretary of a written request from no less than 6 voting members. The meeting shall deal only with the matter of which notice is given in the request.
  Each member in subscription shall be sent notice of an AGM or a SGM, as the case may be, not less than 21 days before the date of the meeting. Such notice shall include an agenda containing all items for discussion or decision.
5. Candidates for membership shall complete the application form which, together with the appropriate fee, shall be submitted to the Secretary for acceptance by the Committee.
  The ASA Membership annual subscription shall be payable on or before 1st January each year, the amount will be regulated by the ASA.
  Admission fees for club sessions shall be paid monthly, quarterly, ½ yearly or yearly with which the amounts will be decided at the AGM.
  A joining fee will be charged, which will provide the member with a free silicone swim cap, with the club logo printed on it.
  Swim caps must be worn for all training sessions, and a club swim cap must be worn for galas, failure to wear a swim cap will result in the swimmer not being allowed to enter the water.
  Any swimmer will be allowed to train with South Axholme Sharks Swimming Club as long as they are a paid up member of the club, even if they swim and compete with a different club.
  Swimmers who are affiliated as a first claim to another club and are not eligible to swim for South Axholme Sharks swimming club in whatever League South Axholme Sharks are members, will not be entitled to swim in the South Axholme Sharks Club Championships.
  If a swimmers first claim club does not prevent them from swimming for South Axholme Sharks swimming club in whatever League South Axholme Sharks are members, will be entitled to swim in the South Axholme Sharks Club Championships.
  Any applications from new members who are already affiliated to another club shall be vetted by the Chief Coach who shall then allocate them a relevant training time.
6. If an ASA Member of South Axholme Sharks swimming Club is an existing ASA member with a different club, then they must seek permission from the Head Coach of their original club to swim in any competitions relating too their new membership.
7. All funds and other property of the club shall be applied to the furtherance of the clubs objectives. No funds or other property of the club shall be paid or distributed among the members of the club, except as allowed by the ASA law relating to expenses.
8. In the event of dissolution, the assets remaining shall be devoted to objectives similar to those of the club.
9. The Clubs accounts shall be closed on 30th September in each year and shall be audited and submitted to the AGM.
10 In view of any matter arising not within the scope of the foregoing rules, the Committee shall have the power to deal with it, as they think fit.
11. Any member misconducting themselves or acting in a way as to destroy the harmonious working of the club shall be cautioned or expelled from the club, as the Committee may decide.
